Joseph Wandera, 27, a Board of Management teacher at Indangalasia Secondary School in Kakamega county has hit the headlines after his quagmire response to tackle the school administration went viral.
Mr. Wandera has sold three (3) bulls belonging to the school claiming that he has paid himself up to the month of December 2020.
This is after his efforts dived to reach out to the school principal over unpaid three consecutive months reaped nothing.
“I have tried to get in touch with the principal to discuss with him the way forward over my unpiad salary, but all of my calls have gone unanswered” he said.
However, the principal, Mr Bwayo has gone berserk to the teacher and reported the matter to the indangalasia chief.
According to Bwayo, the current pandemic has hit the school administration financially and no BOM teacher has been paid, since the only source of income was from the school fees paid by the student.
“We are at a critical condition as a school administration, nothing is moving on, the current global pandemic has affected most of our programs, we wouldn’t wish to delay salary payment to our BOM teachers, but they should also bear with us and understand” Mr. Bwayo said.
Intriguingly, Wandera has thanked the school BOM and wished them well during this period of COVID-19 pandemic.
“I would like to thank the school BOM and wish them well during this period of COVID-19 pandemic” Wandera said.
